The Marketing department provides public information to the College and community. We handle media relations and function as a marketing service center, a source of professional assistance in preparing college publications, scheduling promotions, and publicizing and planning events.


Marketing is available to help you to reach potential students or customers by developing a marketing plan for your college program or department. Marketing offers many standard services to help you market your program. See our Marketing Toolkit on the marketing Sharepoint site.

Marketing requests

For all requests for marketing, including a press release (or public service announcement), please fill out the Marketing Request Form on the marketing Sharepoint site. This system helps marketing manage your workflow and keep you updated on the progress of your request. Marketing produces the annual college catalog, the RCC Student Handbook (Survival Guide), graduation guides, viewbooks, Connections magazine and other publications promoting the college and its programs. We also help RCC staff members write, design and produce brochures, posters or flyers for their programs and events. See the Graphic Identity and Style Guide for more information. Marketing creates and schedules institutional ads for print media as well as radio and television ads, Web ads, banners, and videos. We also can help you create ads for RCC programs and event. See the Marketing TOOLKIT or read our manual on How to Advertise(PDF).

Press Releases or Public Service Announcements (PSA)

You can subscribe to receive future press releases and view past PSAs online

An RCC staff member may submit a request for Marketing to distribute a PSA by completing a Marketing Request Form (Work Order) and selecting Press Release and Media Pitch. They may request something for the RCC homepage by clicking Web/Digital Ad. They may request something on our Facebook page, our Twitter account, and our Rogue Connect app by clicking Social Media Posting(s). If you need help advertising your program, select Media Pitch. There is a place to attach a file. You can only attach one at a time. The file path will say fake until you save it. The status default is Ready for the Marketing Director to Review. This means that management takes a look to see if we have the resources to complete the requested project. After you save your request, you will not see it in the list that shows by default. You can check your item, by clicking Needs Review.

Media relations

Marketing provides news releases and public service announcements (PSAs) RSS Feed Icon to the local media, collects background information for the press, and handles media inquiries. If you would like publicity for your RCC program or event, see How to Request News Coverage.

Community relations

Marketing handles inquiries from the public about College issues/events and communicates with statewide groups and organizations such as the Oregon Legislature, Oregon Community College Association, and the Office of Community College Services.
