Celebrate Earth Day at RCC

Earth Day 2017 in blue banner over Earth in space photographYou are invited to attend Rogue Community College's (RCC) annual Earth Day Celebration Thursday, April 20, 2017, at the Medford and Grants Pass campuses. This free event is held to celebrate Earth’s natural resources and promote their protection for future generations. Free refreshments will be on hand on both campuses.

Increase your awareness and find ways to get involved in sustainability and stewardship.

Earth Day Event Highlights:

Riverside Campus in Medford, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • Conservation and solution-based organizations will be in the RCC bookstore courtyard and on Bartlett Street.
  • A panel of four local experts on Rogue Valley forests, wildfire, streams and climate change impacts will speak and answer questions in HEC-132.
  • Tours highlighting the green building features of the Higher Education Center (platinum LEED).
  • Information on internship opportunities will be available.
  • The Associated Student Government of RCC (ASGRCC) will provide free food.

Redwood Campus in Grants Pass, 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 pm.

  • Wildlife Images will bring animal guests and information on wildlife conservation.
  • Energy Trust of Oregon will discuss monetary incentives available for saving energy at home.
  • A tour of the Redwood Campus arboretum will celebrate the beauty of spring.
  • Local food vendors will be available.
  • ASGRCC will provide music and free refreshments.
  • Siskiyou Field Institute will present solar science related to the eclipse and solar energy
  • Information on internship opportunities will be available.
