Discover our Community’s Diversity; Check out a Human Book

Rogue Community College Diversity Programming Board Human Library Project 2018The Rogue Community College Diversity Programming Board invites you to participate in the Human Library Project. There will be two events, free and open to the public --one in Grants Pass and one in Medford, on the following dates and times:

  • March 6, 2018
    11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Jackson County Library South Wedge Room
Second floor of the Medford Public Library, 205 S. Central Ave., Medford.

  • March 7, 2018
    11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
RCC Redwood Campus Library, 3345 Redwood Hwy., Grants Pass.

RCC students, staff and community members may go to either event to check out a “human book” for a 30-minute “read.” While you have a book checked out, you may ask questions, broaden perspectives and find common ground. The selection of books will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The event is designed to offer a safe space for both book and reader to have an open dialogue.

These books are real people (community volunteers) who come from different walks of life and are willing to share their unique perspectives, cultural histories and life experiences, including adventures, challenges, hobbies and more.
