RCC Ospreys Discontinues Cross-Country and Long Distance Track Programs

Despite initial successes, the Rogue Community College (RCC) Ospreys Athletic Department announced today that it has discontinued the cross-country and long distance track programs. Participation has not met expectations.

Keynote speaker Jackie Sandmeyer, campus coordinator for the Oregon Attorney General’s Sexual Assault Task Force, will present "#MeToo–Now What?," a discussion about sexual harassment and assault, the #MeToo movement and its effect on our awareness and actions regarding sexual violence.

Three Red Cross Blood Drives at RCC Campuses

Associated Student Government for Rogue Community College hosts American Red Cross Blood DriveThe American Red Cross is collaborating with the Associated Student Government of Rogue Community College (ASGRCC) to host three blood drives.

Celebrate spring with a random act of kindness by giving blood at one of these drives:

  • Tuesday, May 1, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on the Riverside Campus, Building G, in the lobby at 117 S. Central Ave., Medford.
  • Wednesday, May 2, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Redwood Campus in the Student Center at 3345 Redwood Hwy., Grants Pass.
  • Wednesday, May 9, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. on the Table Rock Campus by the Bookstore at 7800 Pacific Ave., White City.

A Free Asperger Syndrome Conversation: Enliven, Empower and Educate People about Asperger Syndrome

The Rogue Community College (RCC) Diversity Programming Board and the RCC Disability Services department invite the community to a free Asperger Experts (AE) presentation with Danny Raede live from Seattle via video conference on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, from noon to 2 p.m.

RCC Flies Flags at Half-staff Honoring Barbara Bush

In accordance with the order from Oregon Governor Kate Brown, Rogue Community College will be honoring former First Lady Barbara Bush by flying all flags at half-staff until sunset on the day of her interment.

RCC Seeks Interim Board Member

The Rogue Community College (RCC) Board of Education seeks applicants for an interim appointment to represent Zone 6 of the RCC District.

To qualify, candidates must reside in Zone 6 of the RCC District, generally described as southwest Jackson County including precincts 18, 32, 10 and 35 in Medford School District #549C, portions of precincts 15, 17, 19, 29 and the portion of Three Rivers School District situated in Jackson County. Interested persons may contact the Jackson County Elections office at 541-774-6148 to determine if they reside in the correct precinct. 

RCC Celebrates New Veterans Resource Center

Grants Pass–The public is invited to the grand opening of the Rogue Community College (RCC) Veterans Resource Center at the Redwood Campus on April 25. The RCC Veterans Services department has planned activities include door prizes, college administration, students, and staff will speak, music will be played and lunch will be served to honor our veterans. The open house is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and formal festivities begin at noon.

RCC Foundation Received $1.1 Million in March 2018

The Rogue Community College (RCC) Foundation received $1.1 million in donations in March 2018, bringing the Foundation's endowed funds to over $11 million.

The largest of these gifts was from the estate of Chuck Schilder, for an endowed fund for scholarships for nurses and emergency medical technicians. This $600,000 gift is a tribute to his wife Allene Schilder, who passed away in 2012 after a life dedicated to helping others.

RCC Science Department benefits from $5,000 Grant from the Autzen Foundation

An incubator at the Redwood Campus in the science lab building was purchased with funding provided by the Autzen Foundation for use in microbiology courses. (Rogue Community College (RCC) Photo/Sara Bristol)Grants Pass, Oregon – Rogue Community College (RCC) is pleased to announce a $5,000 grant from the Autzen Foundation that is providing funding for a science lab incubator and biology lab manuals.

The Autzen Foundation’s support will help the more than 500 students who attend RCC biology courses annually, especially those taking microbiology, who can now incubate cultures in the new incubator.

RCC Honors Night set for April 20

The media are invited.

GRANTS PASS — Rogue Community College (RCC) will pay tribute to outstanding students at the annual Honors Night dinner and ceremony on April 20. The event will be in the Rogue Auditorium building (RWC-R) on the RCC Redwood Campus, at 3345 Redwood Highway, Grants Pass.

Dinner will be at 6 p.m. and awards at 7 p.m.
