Ospreys Women Get First Victory

RCC Athletics Osprey LogoThe Ospreys women faced the Portland Community College Panthers on the road Wednesday, Oct. 4, in Hillsboro. The Ospreys were seeking their first victory of the season and found it with a final score of 4-0. Karli Woodruff was the player of the match as she notched her first two goals of the season while Lilly Barrett collected her second shutout of the season.

Undefeated Ospreys Men Defeat SWOCC 2-1

RCC Athletics Osprey LogoMEDFORD -- The Rogue Community College men's soccer team battled to a 2-1 victory over Southwestern Oregon Community College at U.S. Cellular Community Park on Wednesday, Oct. 4, keeping the Ospreys' record clean in conference play at 5-0.

New Art Exhibit at RCC Wiseman Gallery Featuring Three Artists

The Rogue Community College (RCC) Wiseman Gallery’s fall 2017 exhibition, “Uber-Form: Painting the Image,” will be on display from Oct. 4 through Nov. 30 at the campus in Grants Pass featuring works by E Bender-Webb, Scott Malbaurn and Claudia Cilloniz Marchini.

The opening reception is scheduled at the gallery from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4.

RCC Board to Hold Special Meeting Oct. 5, 2017

The Rogue Community College (RCC) Board of Education (Board) will hold a Special Board meeting (work session) on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the People's Bank of Commerce conference room, 1311 E. Barnett Rd., Medford, Oregon.

The topics of discussion for this special session include (1) Table Rock Campus Master Plan (first review); (2) Definition of the Construction Manager/General Contractor Process; (3) Bond Project Updates; (4) Strategic Plan Update; (5) Entrepreneurial Fund/Process, and (6) Student Tuition. 

No formal action is anticipated.

The 2017/18 school year is now underway, so it’s time to apply for financial aid for the next school year. File a 2018/19 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as soon as October 1, 2017, at, using 2016 income and federal tax information. RCC Awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting

The Rogue Community College (RCC) Budget and Financial Services department recently received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting awarded by Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. It is the 15th time and the 14th consecutive year that RCC has earned this prestigious distinction.

Ospreys Split Decisions in Back-to-Back Home Matches

RCC Athletics Osprey LogoThe Rogue Community College Ospreys women’s and men’s soccer teams were in action in back-to-back matches against Clark College on Saturday, Sept. 30, at U.S. Cellular Community Park in Medford. The Ospreys women dropped their match 4-0 to the Penguins, while the Ospreys men picked up a 2-0 victory to take sole possession of the No. 1 seat in Northwest Athletic Conference South Division.

RCC and City of Grants Pass Plan Innovation Hub for Community

Rogue Community College and the City of Grants Pass are coordinating efforts for the proposed development of the Rogue Innovation Hub. The partnership in an initiative to inspire and nourish hometown cultural and economic opportunity by establishing a downtown facility as a regional creative maker space and technical innovation hub. 

An open house with photos and video of possibilities for the space will be held during First Friday, October 6 from 5-8 p.m. at the historic Grants Pass City Hall and Fire Station building, 214 SW 4th Street in downtown Grants Pass.

Medford Police Identify Suspect in RCC Bomb Threat

The Medford Police Department reported to RCC today that they have identified the person they believe is responsible for the bomb threat at Riverside Campus in Medford. The person, whose identity is not available for disclosure, was employed by an agency that contracts with RCC. The person has been removed from RCC, and police are continuing the investigation.

Medford police have assured RCC that the person was only making a threat, and there was no immediate or credible danger to students and staff.
