See Dazzling Student Graphic Design Artwork at the Annual Portfolio Show June 15

Works of art by the Rogue Community College (RCC) student graphic designers will be on display at their annual portfolio show Thursday, June 15 from 1-4 p.m. in the RCC/SOU Higher Education Center (HEC), Room 129, at the Riverside campus, 101 S. Bartlett St., Medford.

The portfolios will display graphic art, illustration, logo design, print design, web design, typography, and other forms of multimedia design works completed in the fulfillment of RCC’s Associate of Applied Science degree in Graphic Design as well as projects created for professional clients.

RCC Students’ Concert Band Invites Music Lovers to "Movie Melodies”

When the Rogue Community College (RCC) concert band takes the stage on Monday, June 12, the ensemble will present a concert ideal for music lovers and movie fans of some of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters. "Movie Melodies" will start at 7:30 p.m. in the Rogue Auditorium Building on the Redwood campus, 3345 Redwood Highway, Grants Pass, Oregon. Admission is free.

RCC to Make Changes in Art Galleries in Josephine County

Rogue Community College (RCC) will close the FireHouse Art Gallery in downtown Grants Pass when the final show of the season ends June 30. In the fall, all future art exhibits sponsored by the college will be held in the Wiseman Gallery on the RCC Redwood Campus at 3345 Redwood Highway, Grants Pass.

RCC Students’ perform "Gloria" by Antonio Vivaldi

 Antonio VivaldiRogue Community College (RCC) choruses and orchestras from the Redwood and Riverside campuses will combine to perform the exquisite "Gloria" composed by Antonio Vivaldi on Sunday June 11, 2017 at 3 p.m., at the Grants Pass High School Performing Arts Center. Admission is free.

Vivaldi is one of the best-known composers of the Italian Baroque era. The "Gloria" is one of Vivaldi's most popular works. It is a joy to experience the twelve short movements, each based on just one or two lines of text, set to beautifully intertwined melodies and energetic rhythms.

RCC Student Art Exhibit Runs through June 14

Rogue Community College (RCC) art students’ talented creations are on display at the RCC art galleries for the annual RCC Student Art Exhibit in Grants Pass and Medford running through June 14.

The exhibits, which are in a great variety of styles and themes, were created in this year’s RCC art classes, may be viewed at these locations:

  • The Wiseman Art Gallery at the Redwood campus, 3345 Redwood Hwy., Grants Pass.
  • Second floor of the RCC/SOU Higher Education Center (HEC) at the Riverside campus, 101 S. Bartlett St., Medford.

Becoming Nicole: Building Equality

Nicole MainesThe Rogue Community College (RCC) Diversity Programming Board is proud to welcome Nicole and Wayne Maines, featured in the award-winning book, “Becoming Nicole: The Transformation of an American Family.” Becoming Nicole highlights the true story of a transgender girl, her identical twin brother, and one family's journey of understanding and compassion.

The public is invited to this free presentation, question and answer session, and book signing on June 9, 2017 from noon-2:30 p.m., at the Medford Library in the Large Community Meeting Room, 205 S. Central Ave., Medford, Oregon. Seating is limited to the first 200 people.

Ospreys distance runners wrap up the track season in fine form at the NWAC Championships at Mt. Hood Community College

RCC Athletics Osprey LogoGRESHAM, Ore. – Four Rogue Community College (RCC) distance runners battled the unseasonably high heat as they closed out the track season at the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) Championships over the weekend at Mt. Hood Community College. Mallory Ward earned sixth place in the 10,000-meter with a time of 43:18.49, while Allex Bachtell finished with a time of 47:31.79.

The application deadline for the 2017/18 cohort for the Human Services program at Rogue Community College (RCC) has been extended to August 5, 2017, at 5 p.m.

RCC Hosts Invisible Disabilities Awareness Event

This meet-and-greet event is encouraging visitors to learn more about invisible disabilities as well as the services and support provided by the RCC Disability Services department and RCC staff. There will be “Invisible No More!” nametags provided for visitors to write down both names and their disabilities to help further awareness throughout the day. Come voice your suggestions and concerns for students with disabilities on campus. There will also be various student and guest speakers who will discuss their experiences as, or caring for, someone with disabilities in our society.

RCC President Kemper-Pelle Gets Thumbs up from Board

Rogue Community College President, Cathy Kemper-Pelle, Ph.D. GRANTS PASS, Ore.--The Rogue Community College (RCC) Board of Education gave high marks to the new RCC president, Cathy Kemper-Pelle in her first evaluation since joining the college in 2016.

In a letter from Board member Kevin Talbert to Kemper-Pelle in April, he said the Board was very pleased with her progress to date and gave her high marks for energy, direction, and leadership.
