Save the Date to Save Lives: Red Cross Blood Drive Hosted by RCC Associated Student Government

Blood Drive American Red CrossThe Associated Student Government of Rogue Community College (ASGRCC) has partnered with the American Red Cross to host three blood drives.

Do you want to make a difference by saving a life? RCC hopes you will the support the Red Cross at one of their drives:

  • Wednesday, November 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Redwood Campus, Library at 3345 Redwood Hwy., Grants Pass.
  • Thursday, November 9 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. on the Table Rock Campus, Room TRC-101 at 7800 Pacific Ave., White City.
  • Tuesday, November 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on the Riverside Campus, Building G, in the lobby at 117 S. Central Ave., Medford.

RCC Flies Flags at Half-staff

Rogue Community College will fly all flags at half-staff until sunset Nov. 9 in honor of the victims of the Sutherland Springs, Texas shooting.

The White House has issued a national flag order, and the full presidential proclamation is available at https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/proclamations.

Ospreys Season Ends with 4-0 Loss

RCC Athletics Go Osprey! Registered LogoMEDFORD – The Rogue Community College Ospreys men’s soccer team ended its season Wednesday, Nov. 1, with a 4-0 loss to Pierce College in the first round of the Northwest Athletic Conference single-elimination playoffs.

RCC Welcomes New Board of Education Member

Shawn HoganRogue Community College is pleased to announce the addition of Gold Hill resident Shawn Hogan to the RCC Board of Education. Hogan, who fills the Zone 3 Jackson County position, was elected to a four-year term during the May 16 special election. His term expires June 30, 2021.

“Shawn brings to the Board of Education another set of experienced eyes,” said Tim Johnson, board chair. “He is able to blend a quest for the best possible education with the need for fiscal responsibility. His years of experience in the business world will be a great asset on the board.”

RCC’s November Closure Dates

Rogue Community College (RCC) will be closed on the following dates:

  • November 10 – Veterans Day Holiday observed.
  • November 23-24 – Thanksgiving Holiday.

Quorum of RCC Board of Education members to attend OCCA Annual Conference

A quorum of Rogue Community College (RCC) Board of Education members will be attending the Oregon Community College Association (OCCA) Annual Conference November 1-3, 2017. The conference is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at Salishan Resort in Gleneden Beach, Oregon. No formal action is anticipated.

Ospreys Men Drop Division Championship Match 2-0; Women End Season with 1-0 Win Due to Portland Forfeit

RCC Athletics Go Osprey! Registered LogoMEDFORD – The Rogue Community College men’s soccer team lost the division championship 2-0 to Portland Community College on Saturday, Oct. 28. The loss means the Ospreys ended regular season play in second place in the NWAC South Division and advance this week to the Northwest Athletic Conference playoffs.

Ospreys Face Clark: Men Draw 0-0, Women Fall 2-0

RCC Athletics Osprey LogoVANCOUVER, Wash. – The Rogue Community College Ospreys were on the road Wednesday, Oct. 25, taking on Clark College in simultaneous games at the Harmony Sports Complex. The men finished in a 0-0 draw, setting up a South Division Championship match between the Ospreys and Portland Community College on Saturday. The Ospreys women fell to Clark 2-0.
