RCC Illinois Valley Chorus Offers Free Concert

Celebrate the first day of spring and the National Geographic “Year of the Bird,” a centennial celebration of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, with the RCC Illinois Valley Chorus who invites the public to their free concert March 20 at 7 p.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church at 200 W Watkins St. in downtown Cave Junction.

All songs performed will be related to birds to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, which was codified in 1918 by Congress to provide full protection of migratory birds between the U.S. and Canada, and eventually Central and South America. Over 800 species are currently on the "protected" list.

Solos, duets and full chorus numbers will include accompaniment by piano, guitar and banjo.

The concert will be led by RCC Illinois Valley Chorus instructor Kate Campbell.

The Illinois Valley Chorus is one of the Community Education department course offerings. This course meets every Tuesday from 7-8:50 p.m.
