Over the past decade, Joint Boards of Articulation Committee collaborated to create the Oregon Transfer Module (45 credits), which marks the completion of one year of general education courses that are applied toward university transfer. Community College and Workforce Development crafted the Career Pathway Certificate of Completion (12 to 44 credits) to acknowledge a specific technical skill proficiency to help a student qualify for a job or enhance employment opportunities. These benchmarks along with less than one-year certificates are accepted at the state level as completions, and counted as such.

Pathways Certificates of Completion and Oregon Transfer Modules differ from the traditional certificates and degrees and those completers are not eligible to participate in commencement exercises. To mark the completion of these milestones a notation is automatically posted on a student’s transcript. Students completing an associate’s degree or a certificate program of more than 45 credits must request a transcript evaluation (graduation application) to document their achievement.
