Petitioners and Demonstrators (AP-041)

Gathering signatures for petitions or peaceful demonstrations on campus is permitted; however, in order to minimize potential interruption to the educational process, an individual or organization must follow these guidelines when requesting permission to gather signatures for petitions or display demonstration material on all college campuses:

1. Bring petition or materials to the office of the Vice President of Student Services (VP) at the Redwood Campus (RWC), the Dean of Student Success (Dean), Riverside Campus (RVC), or Rogue Central Specialist, Student Services at Table Rock Campus for instructions.

2. Any signs or flyers relating to the petition will be approved by the VP or Dean and may be posted at the designated location.

3. Petitioners and demonstrators must obtain a visitors pass from the VP’s or Deans’ offices. Petitioners and demonstrators will be provided with a disclaimer notice that must be clearly visible to students.

4. Signatures may be obtained and protests may be demonstrated at a designated time and location.

5. Petitioners and demonstrators will be required to stay within designated areas approved by the VP or Dean:

• The Student Center/Cafeteria (RWC)

• The Fountain Area (RWC)

• The Student Lounge at G/Wards Building (RVC)

• The Open Outdoor Space between G Building and Bookstore (RVC)

• The Student Commons Area (TRC)

• The Lawn Area in the Back Parking Lot (TRC)

6. Petitioners and demonstrators must not approach or interrupt students, faculty, or staff for signatures but instead should make petitions or other materials available at a table or location identified by an appropriate sign indicating, “information table and materials provided are not affiliated with Rogue Community College.”
