Procedure: TRANSFER AND ARTICULATION (AP-108)

Rogue Community College (RCC) develops and implements a wide variety of transfer articulation pathways and partnerships for student success and completion. RCC also complies with all state-wide transfer and articulation agreements (e.g. AAOT, ASOT, OTM). All formalized articulation agreements will be published in the college catalog and website.

Types of pathways include:

Articulation Agreements: Formal agreements that guarantee transfer of RCC credits towards a program of study, in ways not available in the absence of the agreement. These may include scholarship opportunities, professional school admission, and/or reduced tuition rates for RCC students admitted under the agreement.

  1. Initiated at the request of faculty, advisor or administration, these guides are developed in collaboration with partner institutions by the faculty and curriculum office following the specified template.
  2. Guides must be signed by faculty from both institutions, the Dean of Curriculum and Instruction and the Vice President of Instruction.
  3. Once developed, guides are reviewed annually and updated as needed (via faculty/curriculum office collaboration).
  4. If the agreement is financial in nature, contains a cost, or obligates RCC in any way, it must also be signed by the Budget/Contract office (e.g. dual credit payments).
     

Transfer Guides: Specifies the coursework needed to fulfill lower-division requirements for degrees, specific majors, and/or general education at a specific partner institution, based on existing course articulations determined by the partner institution.

  1. Initiated at the request of faculty, advisor or administration, these guides are developed in collaboration with partner institutions by the faculty and curriculum office following the specified template.
  2. Guides must be signed by faculty from both institutions, the Dean of Curriculum and Instruction and the Vice President of Instruction.
  3. Once developed, guides are reviewed annually and updated as needed (via faculty/curriculum office collaboration).
     

Course-by Course articulations: Specifies how a specific course at RCC articulates to a destination institution – as Career Technical Education or Lower Division Collegiate, as a specific course, as an elective within a particular discipline, etc. All public and private universities in Oregon, and many institutions elsewhere, maintain databases of course-by-course articulations for RCC coursework.  These databases are regularly updated based on catalog revisions in cooperation with the Curriculum office at RCC.

The Curriculum and Scheduling office maintains a list of all articulations maintained by RCC. This list is available upon request. In addition, the Curriculum Office will work, in cooperation with the Advising Office to maintain a transfer and articulation web page available to students, staff and faculty. Adjustments to this website require approval by both the Curriculum Office and Advising Coordinator.
