Lifelong Learner Tuition Waiver

The lifelong learner tuition waiver is designed to promote a lifestyle of continuous learning and personal enrichment. It is available to Oregon residents, ages 65 years and older. The waiver maybe applied to up to eight credits per term for eligible classes. Students using the lifelong learner tuition waiver do not receive credit for the classes and do not pay tuition, but are responsible for course fees, books, and supplies.

Don't have an ID number yet? Apply to RCC to get your student ID.
  • Lifelong learners are eligible to take any college-level general education classes that are not career-technical or limited-entry (i.e. Alcohol and Drug Counselor, EMT, Nursing, etc.)
  • The options are endless. RCC offers courses ranging from health and wellness (yoga, pilates, tai chi) to art (ceramics, figure drawing, jewelry-making) to literature and foreign languages.
  • The tuition waiver only applies to courses being audited, and is not to be applied toward a degree or certificate.
  • In order to utilize the Lifelong Learner Tuition Wavier, there must be availability in the class.
  • Enrollment Services staff will register students into applicable courses, based on meeting waiver requirements and seat availability two weeks after open registration begins (see Enrollment Deadlines).
