(Early) Education Club

Meets 1 Saturday per term.

Description/Purpose:

The Education Club provides professional development opportunities for students interested in the field of education. It has joint membership of Southern Oregon University and Rogue Community College Early Childhood and Elementary Education students and faculty interested in the teaching of infants, toddlers, pre-k and/or elementary students.
Mission: Students and faculty use the Education Club as a vehicle for support, learning, collaboration, and mentoring.

Specific Goals:

  •   Gain practical knowledge and experience related to education
  •   Experience positive leadership and have an opportunity to lead others
  •   Meet other students and faculty in both face-to-face classes and web-based courses
     

Activities include:

  • Guest speakers on various "education" topics
  • Field visits to educational institutions and conferences
  • Career exploration activities
     

Meetings:

Welcome to all students and faculty!!!!  There are no membership dues or requirements.  Meetings are held once or twice a term on Saturday mornings in the HEC building in Medford.  Dates will be announced before each meeting.  Extra credit is offered in most education classes for attending the meetings.
