Jana BakerVice President
Jana Baker

Hi RCC, my name is Jana Baker and I am so happy to be your 2018-2019 student body vice president. I am double majoring in nursing and criminology and one day hopes to be medical practice lawyer and elected official. I also work in career and student employment services so I’m always around on campus and encourage you all to say hi!

I have a passion for politics, government, and making sure all voices are heard. For my main goal I plan to accomplish for this school year is for each RCC student to feel welcome on campus and for each of you to know I am a friend, a person to talk to, and a great resource that is always here and available to you all.

I look forward to meeting all of the students and encourage you all to get more involved this year!

Suzanne RhueDirector of Publicity and Media
Suzanne Rhue

My name is Suzanne Rhue, I am a student at RWC campus and I have recently become a member of the Grants Pass student government. I look forward to meeting new students. The Grants Pass student government is located in the student center behind the fire place. Please feel free to come by if you are needing any help locating the many services that Rogue Community College has to offer.

Before I became a college student I ran a Certified Child Care facility, called KangaRhue Child Care. My son, age 4 at the time, thought it would be neat to use the spelling of our last name in the title. Over twenty-two years later there have been over 450 children that I’ve been privileged to watch grow up.

One of my goals was to go to college and having recently become an empty nester, I thought why not? I am 49 years young and no one’s too old to learn something new. It was scary at first but a little exciting too. Just jump into each class like it is your own personal challenge, and award yourself for each milestone along the way but most importantly, have fun.

Sam (Ace) Ventura

Hello my name is Sam Ventura, Director of Clubs and Organizations. Some people know me as “ACE” a nickname I have had for years thanks to my last name and a 90’s movie with Jim Carey. I’m currently working towards completing classes to get into Nursing school. My family means a lot to me, which is why I decided a career change that would allow me to; do something I love (helping others), take care of my family, and still have the ability to spend quality time with them. I am new to the area and attending school here has been a highlight, since moving here from Sacramento CA.  Since I arriving, I have met so many great people and truly enjoy helping make this campus and our time here as students a supportive, and fun place to reach towards our dreams and goals. I am honored to be part of ASG and will do all I can to best serve as the Director of Clubs and Organizations. Feel free to email me if you have questions, or would like to start or join a club:

Hello fellow Osprey! My Name Amber Woodford.  I am the Executive Secretary for our Student Government on the Redwood Campus.  I have been attending RCC-Redwood Campus since Spring of 2017 to become a Massage Therapist.  I am a mother of three amazing adults and a grandmother of two beautiful children.  I became involved with Student Government because I wanted to have a voice in our campus decisions and guide my peers in the appropriate direction to help them on their educational journey.  I encourage you to stop by and see us sometime.  Our focus is our school and you. See you soon!

Ashley Abbott

Greetings from the heart, my name is Ashley Abbott. I started going to RCC in the fall term of 2017. Not too long ago I have found myself fortunate to have an enchanting position as Student Senator at the Redwood Campus of Rogue Community College. I originally went to RCC for Nursing, but recently decided phlebotomy would the best step for my career journey. Before college, I was a student at Hidden Valley and graduated as the class of 2017. Since my change of high school to college after the summer break, the feeling of open arms at the Redwood campus inspired me to become part of the crew who made it feel like home.

If you ever need assistance or recommendations around the college, (or just need a high five) I am always happy to help out. I hope to see you soon, have a good day!

Sara WardianDirector of Health and Wellness
Sara Wardian

Sara Wardian here, and I am blessed to be acting as the Health and Wellness Coordinator as part of ASG here at RCC.  I hope to serve RCC’s community well.  If you have any ideas, questions, or concerns you can find me in the ASG portion of the Student Center.  In my time here I would like to help inspire fellow students to actively pursue and prioritize a healthy mind and body.  While we chase our dreams and degrees we may find that we neglect ourselves in the process.  A healthy mind is the best soil for knowledge to grow and therefore it should hold importance while we balance out schedules.  I want to see a healthy hope filled community with a bright future. Go Ospreys!
