Pass/fail option for select courses

For spring term only, RCC is offering students the option to select a pass/fail grade instead of a letter grade for some courses. This is in response to the recent changes in course delivery in many of the college’s classes, along with added external pressure and potential stress on our students.

The pass/fail process will require students to complete a request form and get approval from their advisor or the department chair of the course. Request forms are available through Advising; they will be due by May 22.

Instructors can help students identify the correct department chair. Not all courses qualify for pass/fail grades.

Students should check with their transfer schools regarding their policy for accepting pass/fail grades before submitting a pass/fail request.

Pass/fail grades are not calculated in a student’s GPA, but students still earn credit towards degree or certificate requirements when receiving a passing grade.

Pass/fail grades are calculated into a student’s Pace (attempted credits). Any student with questions about how this might impact financial aid or academic standing should speak to an academic advisor. Contact Advising at advising@roguecc.edu.
