Spring Term Updates

March 20, 2020

Because your health and safety are our priority — and in response to the executive order issued this week by Oregon Gov. Kate Brown — all RCC campuses and learning centers will be closed except to limited staff beginning Saturday, March 21. We will deliver all instruction and services remotely for the Spring 2020 Term.

We know this is a confusing and stressful time, and we want to assure you that RCC is fully committed to helping you continue on your path. Thank you for your patience as we navigate this new chapter together.

Please read the following for important updates and resources:

About Online Classes & Blackboard
All classes will be offered online only for the entire spring term. The online platform we use is called Blackboard. You will find Blackboard via your myRogue student portal or directly at roguecc.blackboard.com.

We are setting up a new Blackboard Help Desk where support staff will be available to answer your questions. The help desk will be open starting March 30.

Students enrolled in spring term will have access to Blackboard for training beginning March 27. Please note that classes will not be visible until April 6, the first day of spring term.

Some classes will not be able to continue online. We're working hard to update the course schedule. It's 90% complete today and will be fully updated by March 31.

Students should check their schedule in myRogue. Classes that have been moved online will show on your schedule. You will also see any canceled courses. Check to be sure you are enrolled for the correct courses to complete your program and maintain your enrollment level if you receive financial aid. For questions about classes, contact Advising at advising@roguecc.edu. For questions about financial aid, contact Rogue Central Services at RCS@roguecc.edu.

Advising
Advising will be offered remotely. To reach an advisor, please email advising@roguecc.edu or call (Medford) 541-245-7552 or (Grants Pass) 541-956-7192.

Bookstore
RCC Bookstores have moved online. Online ordering, including using financial aid, is available now through the bookstore website. Financial aid orders will be processed and shipped after funds are released March 30. All orders have a flat fee for shipping of $5.

Buyback is also available through the bookstore website. The deadline to return any winter term rentals has been extended; stay tuned for further details.

Computer Labs
Student computer labs will be available at the Redwood (Grants Pass) and Riverside (Medford) campuses beginning March 30.

Spectrum is offering free internet access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription. For more information, please contact Spectrum directly at 1-844-488-8395.

Counseling
Are you feeling stressed or anxious? RCC counselors are ready to talk with you and provide support and help with personal issues. If you would like to speak to a counselor, please call (Medford) 541-245-7552 or (Grants Pass) 541-956-7192 or email counseling@roguecc.edu.

Tuition Payments & Financial Aid
Because spring term has been delayed by one week, the dates for tuition payment deadlines and financial aid refunds have changed.

  • March 30 — Begin charging to financial aid at the bookstore.
  • April 6 — Spring term begins. Students may access classes through Blackboard.
  • April 17 — Payment deadline/financial aid refunds begin.
  • May 8 — Refunds begin for first-time loan borrowers.

We realize the delay in financial aid refunds may cause a burden for some students. If this includes you, or if you have questions about your account, please contact Rogue Central Services at RCS@roguecc.edu or 541-956-7501 (RWC) or 541-245-7501 (RVC/TRC) to see if we can help.

Additional Resources
Please see our Community Resources page for information about food banks and other support. We will continue to add more resources to this page in the coming days.

We'll continue to be in touch with regular updates. We appreciate your patience as we adapt to the necessary changes during this time.
