Latino Outreach & Recruitment

Angelica Mendoza

Angelica Mendoza was born in Southern Oregon, but lived in Mexico for five years before returning to Klamath Falls, Oregon. She earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from Southern Oregon University. Angelica had the opportunity to be part of the National Student Exchange where she studied at the University of Hawai’i Hilo for a semester and also got to study abroad in France for a month while being six months pregnant.

She worked at Maslow Project as the Bilingual Case Manager before joining RCC’s enrollment services. Angelica has experience working with foster youth, low income families, and youth and families who are experiencing homelessness. As a first generation student, Angelica is passionate about higher education. She wouldn’t have been able to attend college if it wasn’t for all of the scholarships that invested in her education, especially the Ford Family Foundation Scholarship.

She is excited for her new position as a Transition Specialist Latinx Outreach & Recruitment because this position will allow her to use her native language to help her gente advance for a more thriving future.

Angelica enjoys traveling somewhere new every year, experiencing different cultures, dancing, eating delicious food, and chasing waterfalls with her family.

Fun fact: Angelica has a four year old daughter and a golden retriever mix puppy who keep her on her toes!
