49th RCC Commencement will be online

The 49th Rogue Community College Commencement will be different this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. To ensure the safety of our students, their families and their friends, commencement will be streamed online.

“RCC is proud of our graduates and nothing gives us more joy and pride than celebrating their achievements,” said Kori Ebenhack, vice president of Student Services. “Although we can't meet in person, we can still celebrate together.”

A pre-recorded ceremony, complete with student speakers and the reading of the names of every graduate, will be broadcast on YouTube and Facebook as live events on Saturday, June 13 at 1 p.m. Graduates may celebrate and comment with their friends and families during the live event.

To view commencement at its scheduled time, go to www.roguecc.edu/commencement, or just visit the RCC Facebook page at the scheduled streaming time and join the celebration.

Though students could not be present for the recording, their names will be on screen. Many students submitted photos, and those will also appear with their names.

This year, RCC will proudly confer 669 associate degrees and 299 certificates on 538 graduates. One-hundred twenty-three students will receive their GED. The average age of the RCC graduates is 31.

The GED graduation will also be streamed on YouTube and Facebook. The event will be on Friday, June 12 at 5:30 p.m. To join the GED graduation, visit www.roguecc.edu/GEDgraduation or visit the RCC Facebook page at the scheduled time.
