RCC Prepares All Campuses and Centers for Comprehensive Response to Coronavirus

On February 28, 2020, Rogue Community College joined a statewide higher education task force in preparing should the coronavirus (COVID-19) spread to Oregon. On Friday, March 6, RCC leadership met with the COVID-19 higher education task force for a conference call to discuss appropriate institutional responses.

The Fundamentals of Acting class on Rogue Community College (RCC) Riverside Campus will offer two performances of their class showcase on March 10 and 12 at 12:30 p.m. 

High school students to descend on RCC Table Rock Campus for hands-on exploration of careers

More than 300 local high school students will get hands-on experience with technology and careers at Southern Oregon Skills on Thursday, March 5 at the RCC Table Rock Campus at 7800 Pacific Ave. in White City.

Southern Oregon Skills introduces high school students to career and technical education (CTE) and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers through high-tech workshops, department tours, fun activities, presentations and career planning.

RCC Design Students Launch Magazine for Change

Putting their skills toward a good cause, a team of Rogue Community College graphic design students have launched a magazine called Design 4 Change. The inaugural issue, published in January, highlights community resources, facts and information about the Jackson County homeless population.

RCC Welcomes 40 Recruits at CTE Signing Day

Rogue Community College welcomed and celebrated the futures of 40 students who took a key step toward establishing skilled careers at RCC's 2020 CTE Signing Day. The third annual event was held Thursday, Feb. 13 at the Table Rock Campus in White City.

RCC Hiring Driver Ed Instructors; Certification Course Begins March 14

Rogue Community College is seeking people who want to teach driver education. A certification course for new instructors will be held this spring in Grants Pass.

ODOT-approved driver instructor training and certification courses are offered by Western Oregon University at locations throughout the state. In the Rogue Valley, the next training course will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, March 14-June 7, at the RCC Redwood Campus.

RCC Opens Auditions for 'Much Ado'

The Rogue Community College Theater Arts Department is calling for actors, musicians and crew to audition for its spring production of the Shakespearean comedy "Much Ado About Nothing." 

Group auditions will be held Tuesday,  Feb. 18, starting promptly at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., at the Riverside Campus Rogue Performance Hall (C Building Room 109), 130 E. 8th St. in Medford. Callbacks are scheduled for Feb. 20.

RCC Offers Free Dental X-rays

Dental X-rays can cost $200. Do you or someone you know need dental X-rays?

Here is an opportunity to see if you can get your dental X-rays for free and help an RCC student. The RCC Dental Assisting program is looking for qualified patients to get X-rays between Jan. 24 and March 22.

A qualifying patient must have at least 24 fully erupted teeth (visible and present in the mouth), be at least 18 years old, and be eligible for a full-mouth X-ray. This usually means you have NOT had a full-mouth X-ray in the last three years.

Quorum of RCC Board to Attend Finance Meeting

A quorum of the Rogue Community College Board of Education is expected to attend the RCC Finance and Audit Committee meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. in H Building Room 2 at the RCC Redwood Campus, 3345 Redwood Highway in Grants Pass. All board members have been invited to attend.

A presentation of the 2018-19 Comprehensive Audit and Financial Report (CAFR) will be provided by Eide Bailly LLP and the monthly financial statements will also be discussed. No formal action is anticipated.
