RCC offers state-required training for adult foster care workers

Rogue Community College is offering a state-required training program for caregivers working in adult foster care. The 40-hour online course is offered through RCC Continuing Education and Workforce Development.

The course will run Feb. 2-March 2; it will be offered again April 15-May 12. The cost is $349.

Ensuring Quality Care (EQC) for Adult Foster Home Providers is required by the State of Oregon for all licensees, resident managers, floating resident managers and shift caregivers who intend to own, operate or work in APD-licensed adult foster homes. Upon successful completion of the EQC class, students will be eligible to take the state EQC exam.

RCC recently hired a new instructor for the program. Stephanie Porter has a bachelor’s degree in human services from Western Washington University. She has worked for the State of Oregon in case management and adult foster home licensing, and previously worked in drug and alcohol counseling.
