RCC Opens Auditions for 'Much Ado'
The Rogue Community College Theater Arts Department is calling for actors, musicians and crew to audition for its spring production of the Shakespearean comedy "Much Ado About Nothing."
Group auditions will be held Tuesday, Feb. 18, starting promptly at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., at the Riverside Campus Rogue Performance Hall (C Building Room 109), 130 E. 8th St. in Medford. Callbacks are scheduled for Feb. 20.
Students, faculty and community members are encouraged to audition. The production is seeking actors, musicians, singers and backstage crew. Students involved in the production can earn college credit.
To audition, prepare to present a 1-2 minute memorized monologue from a Shakespeare play and an optional song of the same length. If you play an instrument, please bring it and be prepared to perform a short piece.
If you would like to audition and can’t make it Feb.18, contact the director for an appointment. Students interested in working backstage should attend to the audition or contact the director. Auditions are closed to the public.
The show will run May 14-30 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights as well as two Saturday afternoons. Rehearsals are set to begin March 30.
