Important Updates for Fall Term

It has been a big challenge for you and for us to start this term. We have a new student information system that is not working as it should, and it has created a long wait as we process financial aid and registration. Thank you for your determination to hang in there and attend college this term. We are working tirelessly to serve every student's needs.

An Apology From The President

Many of you, as well as staff and faculty, have encountered problems with registration, financial aid and student records this summer term. We apologize for these issues. We've heard your feedback. Our hearts have been moved by your stories. We care about you, and to be transparent we're telling you more about the situation.

On July 1, Rogue Community College launched an all new student information system called Campus Nexus. This included a new myRogue. This new system has been in development for two years and replaced a very outdated one from 1995 that was obsolete.

Financial aid timelines

Many students are asking for updates on the status of financial aid, loans and other questions. Staff are hard at work responding to all inquiries and providing answers. We are getting hundreds of inquiries per day, your patience is appreciated.

It's time to register for fall classes! Before you do, we have a few important notes about recent changes to our registration system.

First, we launched an all-new myRogue and the login credentials have changed. You will now use your RCC email address to log in to myRogue, Blackboard and lab computers, as well as Microsoft Office applications.

Processing of financial aid and other disbursements is in progress!

Uncertainty about money can cause a lot of stress. And we know many students are anxious about financial aid and other disbursements from Rogue Community College.

We assure you that we have approved financial aid, scholarships and grants for summer term. If you received an award letter, you will get the funds.

But due to the changeover to a new RCC computer system, there have been some glitches with BankMobile, the company that deposits your funds in your bank account.

Thank you all for your grace and patience as we process financial aid awards, scholarships, agency vouchers and refunds in our new student management system. We are writing to let you know that disbursement of summer term refunds is now scheduled to begin Tuesday, July 21.

The new myRogue system is still under development, and your login to BlackBoard and computer labs (and eventually myRogue) has been changed. You have a new login and a new temporary password.

We care about you.

Rogue Community College’s COVID-19 Response Plan continues to focus on everyone's safety, and we are operating on the most current information from our governing agencies. Though we continue to provide classes online, there are still some instances when people must visit an RCC campus.

As of July 1, 2020 all staff, faculty, students, contractors and visitors to any RCC campus are required to wear a mask, face covering, or face shield while inside any RCC facility.

Important update for summer term

Summer term starts Monday and we're still busy working on the new myRogue portal. We have a few wrinkles to work out before you can log in to your account.

We know you may be feeling nervous or unsure about these changes. Please know we're working hard to fix the issues as quickly as possible, and we truly appreciate your patience during this transition.

In the meantime, summer term classes are (almost) ready to begin! Here is some important information about how to get started:

We're excited to bring you an all-new myRogue student portal this summer. The new myRogue will have a cleaner and more user-friendly interface to help you take care of student business.

In the meantime, myRogue is offline until July 5 while we transfer records to the new system. Here's how to take care of business during this downtime:

Dear RCC student,

Spring term begins Monday. To help you get off to a great start, we wanted to let you know about the support services RCC has to help you succeed.

First, log in to your myRogue account and look for the "Printable Student's Schedule." Some classes will meet at a certain time via Zoom video conferencing. If this applies, the schedule will show a meeting day and time and list the room as ZOOM.

Pass/fail option for select courses

For spring term only, RCC is offering students the option to select a pass/fail grade instead of a letter grade for some courses. This is in response to the recent changes in course delivery in many of the college’s classes, along with added external pressure and potential stress on our students.

Good news about fees

March 27, 2020

We have some good news! RCC has decided to waive all distance learning fees for the spring 2020 term. Students who have already paid this fee for spring term will be refunded.

Spring Term Updates

Because your health and safety are our priority — and in response to the executive order issued this week by Oregon Gov. Kate Brown — all RCC campuses and learning centers will be closed except to limited staff beginning Saturday, March 21. We will deliver all instruction and services remotely for the Spring 2020 Term.

After meeting with state officials and college leadership, Rogue Community College President Cathy Kemper-Pelle announced the college will provide instruction and student services through online and virtual means only starting end of day Friday, March 20 through June 26, 2020. This decision allows RCC to deliver quality education to students throughout the entire spring term.
