Admission Requirements & Eligibility

All student must have completed 45 quarter/30 semester credits of prerequisites at a regionally accredited institution prior to enrolling in the nursing program; 30 quarter/20 semester credits must be completed by the end of fall term. The 30 quarter credits must include completion of Anatomy and Physiology I and Intermediate Algebra/Math 95 or higher by the end of fall term. 

Apply during October 1 – February 15 for Fall entry

This information indicates general education courses that can be completed at Rogue Community College that are required by the OHSU Nursing program. However any student planning on applying to the OHSU Nursing program should contact that department for transfer specifics.

Prerequisite Coursework

All prerequisites must be taken for a grade of "C-" or higher, must be taken at a regionally accredited institution, and must be college level. All natural science coursework must be taken within the last 7 years (Anatomy & Physiology series and Nutrition). 

A minimum prerequisite GPA of 3.00 is required for all applicants to be eligible for application review. Only prerequisite courses will be used in the GPA calculation.

Additional Requirements

Foreign Language Proficiency Requirement: Language proficiency is a baccalaureate graduation requirement that can be met by 1) two years of high school language, 2) two quarters or one semester of the same college level language, or 3) a language proficiency examination.

Basic Computer Literacy: College credit work and or life experience can meet this competency.

Additional Notes

*Competency for Intermediate Algebra/Math 95 or above must be demonstrated prior to application. Competency may be demonstrated by a math placement test or by successful completion of Math 95 or higher.

**Courses are required by OHSU Nursing program for graduation but are not required for admittance into the program. Bi211 is the required pre-requisite course to enter the Anatomy and Physiology sequence at RCC.
